PANEL BIOS

On the day STEVEN TURNER told his parents his career aspirations of becoming a tattoo artist, they responded honestly, “Is that an actual job?”. Their reaction was earnest and he really couldn’t blame them. Nevertheless, who doesn’t like to prove someone wrong? Tattooing since 2001 and owner / operator of Hell Bomb Tattoo since 2008, Steven’s affinity for the art form has only grown. In an ever-evolving industry, Steven makes it a point to travel for conventions and guest spots across the US. Growing up with a machinist for a father, he has found a way to apply that knowledge to building handmade, custom tattoo machines for other artists. Painting and playing music add to his long list of interests. A proud Wichitan, born and raised.

SHAILA ROACH became interested in tattooing at an early age, having been introduced to it by her mother, who is a collector. She started her path to becoming a tattooer in 2006, when she took a position managing a local tattoo parlor. She began training in 2010 and has been professionally licensed in Kansas since 2012. She is currently working in downtown Wichita at Hell Bomb Tattoo. When given the option to provide custom drawn work, her style leans toward bright, straightforward, traditional tattooing. She prides herself on having the ability to transform client's visions into artwork that is tailored for skin. Shaila enjoys working in a range of mediums aside from tattooing, focusing mostly on watercolor and acrylic painting. Shaila lives with her husband and their two little boys in Sleepy Hollow.

Born and raised in Wichita, MEGAN SHELTON, attended NorthEast Magnet High School and graduated in 2002 with an emphasis in art. Megan began her pursuit into the world of tattooing shortly thereafter and officially began her tattoo apprenticeship in 2008, and obtained her Kansas state tattoo license the following year. She has called Hell Bomb Tattoo in downtown Wichita home since 2010. Working in a classic style of tattooing, Megan is drawn to traditional tattoo imagery as subject matter. Outside of the tattoo shop, Megan enjoys working in multiple mediums but mostly focuses on painting.
