ANDREW BOWERS Music Director, Bass

Andrew Bowers is an active touring Bassist, Composer, Music Director, Producer, and  arranger hailing from Omaha, Nebraska. Doubling on both Electric and Upright Basses, Andrew has honed his skills under the guidance of great bassists such as Marlene Rosenberg, Eric Hochberg, and Mark FoleY. He has also received mentorship from elite session musicians and producers such as Justin Wilson (Sony / Sound 81 Productions), Bill Caldwell (Randy Brecker / Mike Metheny), and David Teegarden (Bob Seger / Eric Clapton). Andrew has had the privilege of sharing the stage with legendary jazz artists: Bob  Mintzer (Yellow Jackets), Bobby Watson (Art Blakey and the Jazz Messengers), Chris Brubeck, Pat Kelley (George Benson), and Chris Vadala (Chuck Mangione).

Being a Music Director is more than a career aspiration; it is an opportunity to create nuance and chase the singular and indescribably human moments that both audience and performer alike cannot live without.

DAVID SEWELL, Guitar

For over 20 years David has played professionally in bands and countless productions in Wichita. His WSU degrees in Guitar Performance and Accounting allow him to freely associate with both cool people and dorks.  He is currently working on a follow up to his book, "Bebop Made Easy", titled, "Bebop Made Remotely of Interest to Anyone".  Unwavering in his views on "sus" chords, David hopes to meet someone special who enjoys green guitars, small dogs and taking long walks on the beach.

GUEST ARTIST, SUSANNE HAYES, Piano

Susanne Haynes has been playing piano and accompanying for nearly 30 years. She commemorated her first accompanying experience in her diary, writing, "I played about three notes right, twenty wrong and skipped all the rest!" Thanks to a wide variety of great (and patient) mentors, directors and fellow musicians, she had had many chances to grow musically since then and plays most of the notes correctly now. She wishes to thank everyone at Roxy's for allowing her to play for such a talented cast, and the cast for their kindness and encouragement. Also thanks to Peter and Andrew for their help interpreting the score, her four sons for their patience through all the practicing, and God for giving her this talent.

CHRISTIAN TEUFEL

Christian is currently working on an undergraduate degree in Percussion Music Performance. In addition to having played drumset for multiple collegiate groups such as the WSU Big Band, Jazz Combos, Steel Band, and Banda Hispanica, he also has experience in a classical percussion setting. Notable events are that of attending the Hot Springs Music Festival in 2016-2017, and playing in the Enid Symphony Orchestra (2016-2018).
